The recent trip to Iran to view the Venus Transit by Liam Kennedy will be the subject of several interviews on some local TV shows including KOCE RealOrange and COX Forum
UPDATE: Liam will be on a talk show Sunday July 25th 5:00pm broadcast via the IPN Satellite service worldwide.

A fire on the OCA Anza site burns tables and about seven acres of brush but spares buildings.

Tom Caldwell, an OCA member who has property near our Anza site, sent me this account of the fire that broke out near our site in the late afternoon of Saturday, June 5, 2004. Dave Radosevich and Jim Hannum tell me that the vegetation on part of our site burned, though no buildings were hurt. The neighboring property lost all of its vegetation, but fortunately they didn’t have any structures damaged, either.

EOA Changes its Regular Meeting Day

The Electronically Oriented Astronomers SIG (aka the EOA) is changing its regular meeting day from the 3rd Wednesday of the month to the 4th Monday of the month. The next meeting date is therefore July 26, 2004. The location and time will stay the same.
