January 4 at 7:30 p.m. is the "How to Use Your Telescope" session of our regular monthly Beginners Astronomy Class. It will be held in the area of the parking lot and the Carriage House at the back of the Centennial Heritage Museum, 3101 West Harvard Street in Santa Ana. This is about a half-block west of Fairview, and Harvard is midway between Edinger and Warner, just south of Centennial Park.
If you have a telescope and want some help with it, bring it to the class and our volunteers will help you set it up and learn how to find some objects with it. If you’re thinking about getting a telescope, come and see what types of telescopes other people have and find out how to use them - this may help you decide on what you want for yourself. If you are already experienced in using any type of telescope, come and help those who are having problems with their equipment!
As with all of our Beginners Class sessions, this event is free and open to the public. For details on the Beginners Class in general, including the schedule of topics and course handouts, please see the webpage on the Beginners Class, under "About OCA" and "Special Interest Groups," or click here.
Note: All people who attend will be allowed to visit our Anza dark site or our Black Star Canyon dark site for a monthly star party.
