Messier Gallery

M13 (NGC 6205), the well-known Hercules globular cluster.

With a total light about equal to a 6th magnitude star, M13 can be seen with the unaided eye in a dark sky. It is believed to be 25,000 light-years away and about 170 light-years in diameter.
