Joel Harris is a native of Los Angeles,
CA, and has basically lived in Southern California all of
his life. Joel is an electronics engineer, currently between
assignments, having earned his B.S. in Electronic Engineering
in October 1997 from DeVry University in Long Beach, CA, where
he graduated magna cum laude.
Joel's previous education encompasses
two other degrees from the University of Southern California
(USC) in both Finance (B.S.) and Small Business Development
and Management (MBA).
Joel is currently the Vice President
of the OCA, and has served the club in various capacities
since 1989, including Vice President, Secretary and Trustee.
Joel has written feature articles
for both Astronomy and Sky and Telescope magazines, and is
the co-author of Chasing the Shadow - An Observer's Guide
to
Eclipses, by Kalmbach Publishers, in 1994.
Joel currently lives in Westlake Village,
CA, near Thousand Oaks, with his wife Patti, his stepdaughter
Kelly, and their quadruped menagerie of Joel's cats Tigger
and Cassiopeia and Patti's Jack Russell "Terrorist",
