How do you weigh a hole?

Astrophysicist Phillip Humphrey of UC Irvine

UC Irvine astrophysicist Philip Humphrey will discuss how to weigh a black hole using the Chandra X-ray telescope by taking the temperature of the gases around a black hole NGC 4649. The new technique could give scientists more precise clues about the origin of galaxies.
