Anza Notebook #7 -- December 1998: "MOCAT and Stairs" In late October club members built the pad for the new MOCAT telescope and pour the concrete for the new staircase between Jupiter Ridge and Ten Pad Alley. Starting with the construction of Jupiter Ridge in December 1995, the Anza site has been in an expansion mode that will continue into 1999. Thanks to Liam Kennedy who supplied the photos this month. Additional photos and descriptions can be found on Liam's web site. Jupiter Ridge was followed by the addition of Anza House. Then came "Land Doe". Now a new member observatory will be added to the member observatory area. Before you know it we will have a McDonald's. The MOCAT pad about to get poured. Don Lynn (left), Anza maintenence director, built the frame for the stairs between Jupiter Ridge and Ten Pad Alley. Don directs the pour while Wayne waits. The framing was not containing the pour so "Land Doe" residents came over to assist.
