Pluto anniversary Online Bonus (information not in the printed version) A depiction of the sky as part of an ancient Roman statue has been found to match descriptions of Hipparchus's star catalog completed in 125 BC. Although the catalog is mentioned by ancient sources, no copy of the catalog itself has survived. Pluto was discovered 75 years ago February 18 by Clyde Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory.
