Dr. Hugh Ross

A Testable Cosmic Creation Model

The question of whether the universe originated and evolved through completely natural processes or was intentionally created by a causal agent has been open since the beginning of scientific inquiry. It has become a passionate topic of heated debate since understanding of the size and structure of the cosmos has unfolded during the last century. People holding to a creation model are increasingly challenged with evolution theories as the only models for the origins and histories of the universe and life.
Skeptics say that creation is not science because it is not testable. But is this true? Dr. Hugh Ross and his colleagues at the science-faith think tank Reasons To Believe have spent 30 years developing and validating a scientifically testable, falsifiable, and predictive creation model. This model is consistent with the so-called Old Earth Creation view (13.75 billion years old), as opposed to the Young Earth view (4,000-10,000 years old). In this talk, he will review the astronomical aspects of this model and discuss cutting edge scientific discoveries which provide compelling evidence for creation.

Hugh Ross

Dr. Hugh Ross (PhD, astronomy, University of Toronto) is founder and president of the international think tank Reasons To Believe. His many books include The Creator and the Cosmos and Why the Universe is the Way It Is, as well as More Than a Theory, Revealing a Testable Model for Creation, the subject of his OCA lecture. A well-known astronomer and apologist, Ross has addressed students and faculty on over 300 campuses in the United States and abroad. From science conferences to churches to government labs, Ross presents powerful evidence on a wide variety of science-faith topics. He lives in the Los Angeles area.
