Chris
Butler is an accomplished science, nature and maritime
illustrator whose works have appeared in publications
around the world, from the Times of London to CNN. His
original art hangs in collections from Australia to
Italy. Known best for his astronomical works, Chris
also produces excellent ocean liner, undersea life,
and dinosaur art.

Chris
is a graduate of the California State University at
Fullerton's television and film school, and he has served
as a production designer on television and film projects.
Among other jobs, Chris has been a tour guide on the
Queen Mary, a financial analyst on the Space Shuttle
program, and a technical representative for a telescope
manufacturer. In addition to his full-time career as
a freelance illustrator, he is serving part time as
a staff artist for the world-famous Griffith Observatory
in Los Angeles.
An
avid amateur astronomer, Chris is a regular lecturer
and former Vice-president of the Orange County Astronomers,
the largest organization of its kind in the world. In
addition to his hobbies of stargazing, hiking and diving,
Chris is working on a novel about the Apollo lunar expeditions
which his father served as an engineer on.
