Members of the OCA benefit from many club
sponsored activities ranging from;
- a monthly
general meeting at Chapman University (open to the public),
- monthly
star parties (open to members and their accompanied
guests) at two sites
- special
interest groups (many with their own monthly meetings
and other related events),
- outreach
events (where club members take their telescopes to
area schools, libraries and other venues to share the astronimical
wonders of looking through a telescope with the public).
- Research activities. Various OCA
Members are working on or have been working on a number
of very successful astronomical research projects such as
Asteriod discovery, Supernova discovery.
