Information on our new "Silverado" site at Black Star Canyon

The OCA has it's in-town star parties at a new facility just off Black-Star Canyon. For many many years the club had access to a site on a hill near to Silverado Canyon. We no longer have access to our old Silverado site. This has been the case ever since the Irvine Company granted the long-term management of the land over to the Nature Conservancy. The good news is that we have now gained long-term (hopefully permaneant) access to a new site hosted by the Nature Conservancy.

Please check the Calendar section of the web site for the dates / times of these star parties a few days prior to the actual event.

For updates on "Silverado" Star parties please send an email to the coordinator for these events, Steve Short. Steve will add you onto his email distribution for news regarding these star parties.

Directions to new site

Please access the Black-Star Canyon map and directions in the members area.
